How do Temporary Hair Dye works?
Temporary Hair Dye works –
This technique allows colouring the hair shaft without reaching the heart of the hair.
Therefore, the hair base remains intact, and the coloured pigments are superimposed on the natural dyes to shade them.
This type of colouring is likely to last for a while before disappearing quite naturally after a few shampoos for fleeting colour and a few weeks for a temporary face.
The temporary colour comes off as you rinse when you wash your hair, as your coloured hair will gradually bleed out.
The significant advantage is that you avoid the root effect when your hair grows back. Unwanted reflections are also supposed to disappear gradually.
Another significant advantage is that this product is less aggressive: ideal for fragile or damaged hair! Indeed, there are no oxidizing agents (e.g. ammonia) as for bleached hair.
Does it work in all colours?
Yes and no, it depends on your base colour and what colour you want to achieve!
If you have brown hair and want to have a platinum blonde (or even an ash blonde), this won’t be easy without fading.
On the other hand, it is possible to have a light brown from a golden blond base.
It must be unspoken that you will not have to lighten your hair with the temporary dye because there is no oxidation. But you can darken your hair without worries.
In reality, I use temporary colouring to revive a colour or add pretty highlights with purple or caramel tones, for example.
You will not necessarily change your hair colour drastically, but it can be a little extra to boost and sublimate your current paint.
Fleeting, semi-permanent, permanent: what are the differences?
The significant difference lies, of course, in the duration of the colours. The fleeting colouring intended to last only 6 to 8 shampoos.
Temporary or semi-permanent dyes go away after 6 to 8 weeks. Finally, permanent colourings require waiting for the hair to grow back to regain its natural colour.
The other significant difference lies in the hair’s aggressiveness: permanent dyes are the most harmful because they open the scales to release melanin (the famous discolouration process).
Permanent hair colour without ammonia uses other equally harmful products!
The semi-permanent and temporary colourings are less harmful because they do not penetrate the hair shaft but settle above to be absorbed by the hair.
A solution for the first grey hair
If you are starting to have a few sparse white hairs, know that non-permanent colourings can also hide almost 30% to 50% of our unsightly white hair.
If your hair has a severe tendency towards salt and pepper, permanent colouring is more appropriate!
In the meantime, I still prefer tone-on-tone colouring to hide white hair.
The coverage is better than the temporary colouring (it fades less quickly). It gives an excellent reflection without damaging as much as permanent colouring.
Non-permanent hair colouring, necessarily at the hairdresser
Although the hair salon increases your chances of having a successful colouring thanks to the advice and the know-how of an expert, you can very well make a temporary dye at home.
Many brands provide at-home shampoos with multiple shades to find the one that’s right for you.
Suppose you do not use a colourist. Still, you do your temporary hair colouring at home.
In that case, you nofollow the instructions carefully, particularly the exposure time, not to have damaged hair.
If you have long hair, take the necessary precautions with two boxes of colouring! It will prevent you from being stranded in the middle of the application
For short hair (above the shoulders), a temporary colour box should generally suffice but look anyway if you have very thick or ordinary hair.
Finally, for medium-length hair, I would opt for caution with two packs, knowing that the surplus can always use for touch-ups!
Focus on their maintenance
The same care as permanent hair colours used to maintain temporary stains. That allows the paint to last a little longer and add shine to your hair.

It is advisable also to apply a mask once a week and let it stand 20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
